20 years of Neuedu: China's largest IT private university is ready to depart again

On June 16th, all the teachers and students of Dalian Neusoft University of Information, tens of thousands of alumni and people from various fields who paid close attention to the development of Neusoft Education gathered online to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the university. From the desolate Youjia village in 2000 to today’s “No. 8 Software Park Road” where famous IT enterprises are gathered, from the first "Notebook University" in China to the university with the largest number of IT majors & students in China and among the best private universities in the country. Over the past 20 years, Neusoft Education has been advancing with an attitude of innovation, integration, and progress. Persevering and determined on the way of pursuing the dreams, it has embarked on a dream-seeking journey which in line with the economic & social development and accompanied with the development of the IT industry, becoming an epitome of co-existence, co-prosperity and co-advancing with this era.

20 years ago, as China’s largest IT solutions and services provider, Neusoft deeply realized the disconnection between talent cultivation of universities and the needs of the IT industry in its own development. It bravely devoted itself to the field of IT higher education and pioneered the way to establish university in Dalian. Over the past 20 years, relying on the innate genes of industrial education, it created a school-running model which is closely connected with the industry, and has become the leader in the field of China's private application-oriented higher education. Over the past 20 years, it has adhered to the educational philosophy of "Empower Students with Innovative Education", created a unique TOPCARES educational methodology, and has become the pioneer of blended learning. Dalian Neusoft University of Information became the first batch of 35 national level model software vocational and technical colleges and the chairman unit of the Dean’s Joint Association. In 2016, it became the first batch of 50 universities in China with typical experience in innovation and entrepreneurship. In December 2019, the Ministry of Education announced the first batch of "Double Ten Thousand Plan" selection list. Three programs (Computer Science and Technology, Software Engineering and Digital Media Technology) of Dalian Neusoft University of Information were recognized by the Ministry of Education as the first batch of national first-class undergraduate programs construction sites. The number of approvals ranks first among all the private universities (including independent colleges) in the country. At the same time, Dalian Neusoft University of Information became the only private university (including independent colleges) selected among the first batch of national first-class undergraduate program construction sites in the above three programs.

In the "Wu Shulian Top 100 Comprehensive Strength Ranking of Private Universities in China", Dalian Neusoft University of Information ranked fifth in the country for two consecutive years in 2018 and 2019. The university also ranked first among all the private universities (including independent colleges) in the "National Index of teachers' Teaching Development in Colleges and Universities" released in 2019 and the "Analysis Report of National Teaching Competition for Teachers in Colleges and Universities (2012-2019) " released in early 2020 by China Association of Higher Education. In May 2020, the world's leading higher education evaluation agency Shanghai Ranking has officially released the "2020 Shanghai Ranking’s Academic Ranking of Chinese Universities". Dalian Neusoft University of Information ranked fifth in the country in the national private universities’ rankings released for the first time.

At the school celebration ceremony, teachers and students, alumni, parents of students, retired teachers, peer schools and partners expressed their sincere blessings and good wishes to the university through messages, videos, congratulatory telegram, etc. Yadong Zhao, graduate of Software Engineering, class of 2009 and president of the Alumni Association, Beijing Branch, Zheng Li, graduate of Computer Science and Technology, class of 2006, current CEO of Guanmai Technology (Beijing) Co., Ltd. and Lei Gao, graduate of Computer Science and Technology, class of 2007, current CEO of Qingdao Qianzhan Technology Co., Ltd. and other alumni used "25-hour", the name of a student club when they were in school, jointly established the "25-hour" alumni scholarship to encourage outstanding students, provide opportunities for students to grow up and express their sincere gratitude for school’s cultivation.

Dr. Tao Wen, president of Neusoft Education Technology Group, Party Committee Secretary and Principal of Dalian Neusoft University of Information, also expressed his gratitude to all the teachers, students and alumni who pay close attention to the development of the school and people from different industries. He said that during the past 20 years, the school has been adhering to the educational concept of "Empower Students with Innovative Education", established an industry-education integrated, application-oriented school-running system, built a school-enterprise collaborative and mutually beneficial operating mechanism, creatively proposed and implemented TOPCARES integrated talent training model, created the SOVO innovation and entrepreneurship education system with unique characteristics of Neusoft. It has built the first provincial-level private university science park in Liaoning Province. At present, it has carried out in-depth cooperation with more than 200 well-known enterprises such as Baidu, IBM, HP, etc. let enterprises deeply participate in all aspects of talent training, let students learn what they will use in the enterprises. The university also empowers many domestic peer schools with high-quality educational concepts, methods, models, systems, and standards accumulated over the past 20 years, which further demonstrates Neusoft's educational value. Up to now, the school has delivered more than 50,000 IT graduates to the society. In recent years, the employment rate and the average salary after graduation are higher than the average level of universities in Liaoning province. It truly integrated the development of the school into the development of China’s IT industry and urban economic society, contributed to the industrial upgrading, economic development and social progress.
